Terms

These terms cover buying fonts from yktype.com. What you may do with the fonts is set by the Font Licence. In short: delivery is instant, and sales are final once a file has been downloaded, except for faulty files and duplicate purchases.

1. Who we are

YK Type is run by a sole proprietor based in Japan. You can reach us at info@yktype.com or through the enquiry form. Our full name, postal address and phone number are given without delay on request; see the Commercial Disclosure.

2. Your order

You pick the fonts, styles and licence types on the site, then pay on a checkout page run by our payment provider, Stripe. The contract is made when your payment is accepted. We then send a confirmation email with your order, the licensee, the price paid and your download link.

The licensee is the person or organisation you name at checkout. If you buy for a client or employer, you confirm you may accept these terms for them.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are set in US dollars, euros, pounds, yen, and Australian, New Zealand and Canadian dollars; pick yours at the bottom of any page. Other currencies are converted by Stripe at checkout, and the amount shown there is what you are charged. Payment is taken in full when you order. It is handled by Link (Sold through Link, LLC), a Stripe company that acts as merchant of record for us: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax, and appears on your statement as LINK.COM* YKTYPE. Card details never reach us.

Where the law of your country requires it, sales tax such as VAT is added at checkout and shown before you pay. Businesses that enter a valid tax ID may have it handled by reverse charge. There are no other fees.

4. Delivery

Fonts are delivered immediately after payment, on the download page and by email. Each download link works for 7 days and for up to 5 downloads of each file. If a link runs out, email us from your order address and we will send a new one.

5. Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online. For digital content that right ends once a download starts, provided you asked for immediate access and acknowledged that you would lose the right. By accepting these terms at checkout and then downloading, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that the right ends when the download starts.

Until any file in your order has been downloaded, you may cancel by emailing info@yktype.com within 14 days of purchase, and we refund you in full.

6. Refunds

Font files cannot be returned once downloaded, so sales are final once any file in the order has been downloaded. We refund in full when:

1. nothing in the order has been downloaded and you ask within 14 days of purchase;
2. a file is faulty and we cannot fix or replace it within a reasonable time;
3. you bought the same licence twice by mistake, for the duplicate.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 10 days of our agreeing to them. Link may also refund a purchase under its own refund policy.

7. Faulty files

If a font does not work as described, tell us and we will fix or replace it. Where we cannot, you may have a refund or a price reduction. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

8. Liability

As far as the law allows, our liability for any claim about an order is limited to the price paid for it. We are not liable for loss of profit or data. This does not limit liability for anything that cannot be limited by law.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and may bring a claim there.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you order is the one that applies to that order. Last updated 6 October 2026.
